Happy New Year Artists

Posted: January 16, 2013

Both my husband and i would just like to say Happy New Year to you all and, we wish you all the best for 2013. We pray and hope that 2013 will bless you with more time for painting and crafting, and allow you to be more creative with your artistic and crafting skills whatever use of medium or craft you do.

We had the most wonderful Christmas holiday, even though just at home for the whole 2 weeks of the holidays, and enjoyed time together as a family visiting family and friends.

I actually gave my parents one of my paintings paintings I did a few years ago, after hearing them talking about how much they loved it – it has poppies in the scene and my Mum loves poppies – and I just thought it would be absolutely perfect in their cottage that they live in. Below is the painting I gave them featuring my parents themselves on Christmas day.

Now, we are fully back to work after a hectic start last week, which was meant to be our holiday week together but, when you run a business from home it is really not as easy you think when the work rolls in. Excellent for us and it keeps putting food on our table etc.And now that we are back to normal and settled into our usual routine I believe it is time to use any spare time during work hours and evenings, to pull out my paint brushes and palette knifes and array of paints and get creative. My daughter was only just asking me yesterday, ~mummy! can i paint something like what you have done on that BIG canvas?” and I of course said yes! so this will be a new idea to get stuck into with my daughter and will help me to slowly throw myself back into painting myself.

I look forward to seeing your 2013 creations.
